Functional neuroanatomical profiling of compounds using non invasive imaging
Changes in expression of activity-dependent genes are used to map neuronal activity changes induced by various compounds.
This enables to :
- Examine whether compounds injected systemically cross the blood brain barrier
- Identifiy candidate brain regions targeted by the compound
- Compare the neuronal activity profile of the drug of interest with existing reference compounds or classes of compounds
